This residential housing/mixed-use facility will include approximately 120 market-rate apartment units, with an attached 300-car parking garage, for exclusive use by the residents, and will include first-floor retail build-outs. Built from 1904 - 1907 as the Schmulbach Building, this high rise on Market Street in the heart of downtown became known as the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Building and was once the tallest building in the state of West Virginia. This 12-story structure served for many years as an office headquarters for Wheeling Steel and subsequently Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel before the demise of the local steel industry.
